Nowadays children watch much more television than they did in the past and spend less
time on active or creative things. What are the reasons? What measures should be taken
to encourage children to spend more time on active or creative things?

Bước 1. Dựa vào mở bài theo cách quen thuộc

Bước 2. Phân tích 1 số lý do – tập trung vào sự đơn giản – viết và giải thích liên tục

• Lý do 1: Ti vi có nhiều chương trình hấp dẫn nên khiến trẻ bị tò mò, muốn xem
liên tục (binge-watch: động từ, xem hết cái này đến cái khác) -> dẫn đến nghiện ti
vi ( Screen addiction= TV addiction). Bạn có thể cho ví dụ.
• Lý do 2. Thiếu sự quan tâm bố mẹ. Giải thích vì bố mẹ quá bận rộn.

INTRODUCTION

Nowadays, the issue that children are highly engaged in watching television has
been receiving a great deal of public attention. Although this concern can be
attributed to a whole host of reasons, some feasible solutions should be taken into
account to address this problem.

• Be highly engaged in: tham gia ở mức độ cao

There are a number of reasons to explain for screen addiction in children. First, since
there are thousands of attractive entertaining shows, movies and music at diposal, they
trigger children’s curiosity to binge- watch all day. In fact, intriguing motions and
contents on TV makes children glue their eyes on, which also make them losetrack of
time and forgetother priorities, like studying. Second, by working with full-time

schedules, parents have no choice but to leave their children with TV for mental
rewards. This means that they hardly find enough time to play with their offsprings,
making children resort to watching TV in their freetime.

• Binge-watch: xem liên tục hết cái này sang cái khác
• Hardly: hầu như không
• Mental rewards : giải trí về mặt tinh thần
• Resort to ving = depend on ving: phụ thuộc vào làm việc gì

• break a screen habit in children. : loại bỏ thói quen coi ti vi ở trẻ

• set a daily limit: có giới hạn xem hằng ngày

• provide fun alternatives : cung cấp những thú vui khác
