Most people know George Clooney for his role in the TV show
E.R., or for his many roles in movies such as Michael Clayton
and Ocean’s 11. However, George Clooney is also well-known
for his passion for helping people all over the world.

George Clooney is a member of the charity United Way and he


gave one million dollars to this organization for Hurricane
Katrina victims in the U.S. Along with other actors he also
started the charity Not On Our Watch. This organization helps
people in need in many countries around the world. In 2008,
George Clooney also became a United Nations Messenger of
Peace. The U.N. chooses famous or important artists,
musicians or sportsmen to help the work of the U.N. to improve
the lives of billions of people everywhere.

George Clooney gives a lot of time and money to these


charities. He also travels to different countries to help give a
voice to the people who face the problems of war and poverty.
