D - Complete this European weather forecast by choosing the right option.

The weather in England will be warm/ warmer/ the warmest than Scotland and not as
wet/ wetter/ the wettest. In the next day or two it will get the coolest/ more cool/ cooler, but
the south of England won’t become as the coldest/ colder/ cold as the north. Most of France
will be sunnyer/ sunnier/ the sunniest than the UK, but the north of France will be windy/
windier/ windyer than England. Clouds will move slow/ slowly/ more slow across France later
in the week.

The worst/ worser/ baddest weather at


the moment is in the north of Germany and parts
of Poland, where there are thunderstorms and
some floods. The weather in Poland will even get

weather is a lot good/ best/ better, although there was some frost this morning in the north of

E – Complete the following dialogue between two neighbours either with the superlative/
comparative of the adjectives/ adverbs given in brackets.

Pete: I don’t think so. I’m sure that mine is the

Geoff: Well, my daughter Jo is the prettiest (pretty)

Pete: That reminds me. I saw you pushing your new
car along the road last week. I really have to say that my car works much better (good) than
yours.
Geoff: Oh yes? Well, then what’s the farthest (far) you’ve ever driven in your car? My wife and I
have crossed America from coast to coast in my car.
Pete: Your wife didn’t enjoy the journey, though, did she? You argued all the time as usual. You
know, I definitely think we’re more happily (happy) married than you and Mary!
Geoff: I’m not surprised. You’re always buying your wife the most expensive (expensive)
presents in the world, aren’t you?
Pete: Well, I’ve got the money, haven’t I? I get up earlier(early) than you and I work much
harder (hard) than you, and so, of course, I earn money quicker (quick) than you!!
