1. As a pharmacist, what are the social responsibilities that you uphold?

 Being a pharmacist has led me to my current work at the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA), wherein I partake on the review and evaluation of health products prior being
placed on the Philippine market. The review of products is being done to ensure their
safety, efficacy, and quality. With this, I am entrusted to render and provide my
scientific knowledge and expertise as well as my moral judgment on the sound and
efficient evaluation of the health products being registered at the FDA. By doing such
thing, I am able to: (a) provide the stakeholders assistance on building their confidence
over their product prior placing it on the market, and (b) maintain and consistently
contribute to the establishment of integrity over the health products consumed by the
Filipino people; thus, safeguarding the public health.

2. Do you think you understand your role in society?


 Yes. Considering that I am a public sevant and placed in the position where I am
expected to practice my authority responsibly as an FDA evaluator, I can say that I
clearly understand my role. Because if failed to do so, I will be neglectful of the
importance of what Im doing and will not be efficient in fulfilling my duties.

3. What are the practices that you do in the work environment?


 Being subjected to numerous scientific papers and studies being reviewed at work, my
colleagues and I frequently conducts small-group discussions. In these occasions, I am
able to practice my professional skills and personal development through providing
them an opportunity to get involved in decisions and establishing the team’s learning
and development. Furthermore, being a public servant means that I am expected to
have integrity over what I am doing. Being punctual, acting with urgency, and deciding
with justice and fairness to the stakeholders are some of the practices that I do to
strenghten my integrity.

4. How do you balance work and family?


 I am able to attend to both my work and my family by establishing boundaries. As a
matter of fact, working in a government agency allowed me to have an ample amount of
time to spend with my family since it does not require me to extend my work hours or
even work during the weekends. Therefore, balancing my work and family is not a
challenge for me.

5. How do you manage your finances?


 Managing finances at the early stages of working life is tough especially for starters that
usually have low compensation. I started managing my finances by wearing off fancy
lifestyle and the urge to desire unecessary things. Eventually, when I finally established
the habit, I was able to save money and decided to enroll at a Graduate School to invest
in my professional development. This allows me to anticipate the Return of Investment
(ROI) by creating doors of opportunities and widening my network.

6. What are your strengths in interacting with people in the community?


 The pandemic paved an avenue for a health worker like me to interact with various
people. I personally think that the strengths I have in interacting with them is that I am
used to show empathy and actively listen to them showing my most genuine interest. I
also think that since I always practice good judgment at my work, I had adopted it to the
way I interact with people.
