Criteria for the Evaluation of Dictionaries

1. The dictionary includes an accurate up-to-date bilingual word list (from English to
Hebrew/Arabic and from Hebrew/Arabic to English) that relates positively to
religious and social sensitivities.
2. There are at least 50,000 entries, including:
 parts of speech (including verb form, irregular plurals, degrees of comparison)
 phrasal verbs
 collocations
 idioms
 slang/informal language
 common expressions
 American/British equivalents.
3. Explanations of the abbreviations used in the dictionary are included.

Criteria for the Evaluation of Electronic Dictionaries

1. Criteria for the evaluation of electronic dictionaries are the same as above.
2. The operation of the electronic dictionary must be user-friendly.
3. The definitions must be given according to the frequency of use.
4. The electronic dictionary translates only words, expressions and verbal phrases, and
NOT full sentences.
5. There are no additional applications such as WORD.
