ENGLISH DAY 2021 (READING AND WRITING)

1.0 Purpose
1.1 This proposal is prepared to get approval from the Principal of The Bukit Jalil
Sports School (BJSS) which located at the National Sports Complex compound in
Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur for LHE3223 Literacy and English Teaching’s
assessment which is English Day 2021 on 1st of July 2021.
1.2 The initial purpose of this program is to help students to encourage the use of
English Language among students either in spoken or written activities. It is
hoped that at end of the program, the students’ interest towards this subject will be
heightened and simultaneously their achievement will be improved. The activities
provided will not only help in enhancing students’ creativity, but most importantly
they will help to improve students’ language proficiency and self-confidence.
2.0 Introduction
The event is called the “English Day 2021” to learn writing and reading
skill for Form 4 student which involve 100 people. Since English language is one of the
core subjects, it is very important for the students to master it. Therefore, this program
with interesting activities is planned so that the students will not be apprehensive to use
the language in their daily basis. Apart from this, English Day 2021 is also an opportunity
to acknowledge the efforts of LHE3223 to organize an event with school students, as
well as providing support for the students to boost their confidence in using the target
language not only for the purpose of examination but also to prepare them for the real
world.

3.0 Objective
By the end of the program, students are hoped to:
3.1. Promote the use of English among students
3.2. Encourage participation of students in school-level competitions
3.3. Identify new talents for school representatives
3.4. Expose the students to the use of English in various kinds of activities
3.5. Promote English Language as a medium of interaction, education and entertainment
3.6. Train students to work in a team as well as to have good communication skills
