listen, then we speak, then we read and finally we write. Listening, speaking, reading and writing are the four language skills we need to develop for complete communication.
First : we consider the child of kindergarten as a
white papper and our role is to fill it with « knowledge »on that stage we depend on listening skill, the teacher must control the class and attracte the children attention by speaking clearly , loudly and nicely using the body gestures . Second : we depend on speaking skill using several tools of teaching. « flash-cards,the poster hold on the class, video projector, puppet… » we start teach children «to practice greetings and introduce oneself » for instance : we use a puppet . Go to every student and say « Hello ,I’m(name of the puppet) » .then Encourage students to say « Hello/Hi,I’m /My name is… to the puppet. ²
Third : Help students love to read by making it
fun : Display letters and words around the classroom. Children are naturally curious to know what is display, Create word families,Play decoding games,Teach phonemic awareness.
fourth: Let students use writing tools such as
pencils, washable markers, chalk, and crayons. ... Encourage students to use drawing to express ideas and tell stories. Show students that written words are a part of daily life. ... Teach students to print theire first name.
