The world’s demand on energy is growing fast because of population explosion and
technological advancements. According to Kannan (2016), it is important to go for
reliable, cost effective and everlasting renewable energy source for energy demand
arising in future. Along with other renewable sources of energy, the solar energy is a
promising and readily available energy option for addressing long-term problems in the
energy crisis. Ashok (2020) added that the solar energy become increasingly attractive
as a renewable energy source because of its inexhaustible supply and its nonpolluting
character, in stark contrast to the finite fossil fuels coal, petroleum, and natural gas.
Meanwhile, green energies are one of the biggest challenges of the century and 3D
printing is becoming a major asset for the energy industry (Gaget, 2018). There are
several attempts in using 3D printing in manufacturing solar panels. This literature
review examines different factors to be considered in developing a large-scale 3D
printed solar trees.
