Ciprofloxacin is an antibacterial.
Ciprofloxacin and other Flourquinolones are extremely well tolerated. It can be taken with or without
meals and should be taken exactly as prescribed, 500mg 1 tab twice a day for 7 days. Do not alter or
take excess doses, or for longer period than recommended.

Contraindications
Precaution should be taken when using ciprofloxacin together with class IA or III anti-arrhythmics as
ciprofloxacin may have an additive effect on the QT interval.
Administration of oral ciprofloxacin and multivalent cation-containing medicinal products and mineral
supplements such as calcium, magnesium, aluminum, iron, sucralfate or antacids reduce the absorption
of ciprofloxacin.
Ciprofloxacin taken with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents except for aspirin can provoke
convulsions.
Pregnancy Category C (US FDA): Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the
potential risk to the fetus.

make sure to consult and ask your attending physician about possible reactions and complications.
”If the above signs and symptoms persist, discontinue taking the drug immediately, and consult your
physician as soon as possible”
