One of the superstitions that I know from southern Chile, more specifically from
the Liquiñe village located in the Región de los Ríos, is about the song of a bird
called Chucao. It is said that if you are walk down the path and you hear him sing
from the right side, you will have good luck. On the contrary, if you hear him sing
from the left side you will be unlucky, but there is no need to worry, because the
superstition is valid only for one day, it does not last forever.
