Accreditation of accounting teachers has a lot of procedures to do.

For anyone who wanted to pursue teaching as a scope of practice, they will

need to communicate both to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)

and Board of Accountancy (BOA), because there is a need for the BOA's

approval. The application form submitted to the PRC will still undertake

assessments and evaluations. There is also a need for verification of license

as a Certified Public Accountant and will be asked for notarization of the said

form. We also noticed that there is a fee of ₱1,500 for the application and

after applying, you will now wait 30 days for the verification of the application.

Indeed, this profession needs a lot of sacrifices and we must be willing to

sacrifice some things in order to excel in this career.

On the other hand, the CPD program is compliant with accountants

for the sake of continuing knowledge and competence in all areas of

accounting or also known as R.A. No. 10912. The enactment of such law was

started on March 15, 2017, upon the effectivity of Resolution No. 1032 or the

Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of R.A. No. 10912. Moreover, it is

said to be a mandatory requirement for the renewal of the PRC Identification

Card of all registered and licensed professionals. The reason for the

implementation of the said program is because the law and the technology

are continually changing and developing. Therefore, the knowledge of all

registered professionals must be updated and coincide with the existing law

and technology as well as the skills they have. And since the trust of the

public is with them, it is important that they are well-rounded and continually

honing to serve their purpose. They should view the CPD as a lifelong

learning activity and not only for compliance purposes. As a result, the law

does not provide any exemption, like being a senior citizen, from CPD

compliance.

Furthermore, different professions had undergone different CPD

programs. And in each of the regulated professions, a CPD Council will be

organized, which will be overseen by the relevant PRB. To simplify, these

programs are enforced by the PRC and the PRB as a whole.
