SAFETY AND HOUSEKEEPINGCHECKLIST ACCOMODATION

THIS CHECKLIST IS TO BE FILLED MONTHLY BY NOMINATED OFFICER.

1 Escape routes, aisles, halls and stairways unobstructed and free of 
tripping and slipping hazards, emergency exits clearly marked.
2 Aisles, halls and stairways clean and dry, and provided with non-skid 
surfaces where appropriate.
3 All areas clean, orderly and free of combustible rubbish. 
4 Area free of overloaded, unauthorized or jury rigged electrical items. 
5 All lights fully operational, stairways and work areas adequately lit. 
6 All emergency lights operational, all emergency equipment in place, 
accessible and operational.
7 All handrails and guard rails correctly fitted and secured, all 
companionways guarded by railing.
8 All safety signs and hazard zone identification signs 
correctly positioned and clearly readable (e.g. No Smoking)
9 Clearance limit clearly marked. 
10 Supplies and materials properly stored. 
11 All portable fire extinguishers correctly stowed and easily accessible. 
12 All fire hoses correctly stowed, free of cuts and abrasions, and valves 
unobstructed and easily operated.
13 Adequate number of non-combustible ashtrays provided and correctly 
placed.
14 Fire proof containers with covers provided and correctly placed. 
15 Garbage is being collected, segregated, and discharged as per 
Garbage Management Plan.
16 Lifejackets correctly stowed and in good order. 
17 Internal communications equipment tested and operating correctly. 
18 First Aid supplied readily available, accessible and clearly marked. 
19 Expired medicines are well segregated and valid medicines are stored

in well label boxes/drawers.
