Germany.SAP is the world's largest inter-enterprise software company.

5. SAP projects and its types

Project is a task or assignments. In terms of SAP, it is divided in four parts.

 Implementation
 Rollout Project
 Upgrade Project
 Support Project

Implementation Project
Fresh installation of SAP in any organization is called Implementation Project. Entire
implementation project is further segregated in 5 phases (which will be discussed in next
slides)

Rollout Project
If a company already implemented SAP for one branch or country but want to setup the
same for a different branch or country is called Rollout Project.

Upgrade Project
Shifting from one version of SAP to other (e.g. from ECC 4.7 to ECC 6.0). In upgrade project
we always shift from lower version to higher version.

Support Project
Post Implementation, all SAP related maintenance/errors activities comes under support
project. Here consultants Just receive the tickets (errors), solve them and send them back to
client.
