The 1987 Bill of Rights was somehow disregarded nowadays by those in authority, such
as Policemen and influential persons.

War on drugs is the best example of neglecting the 1987 Bill of Rights, section
twelve (12) to be exact; extrajudicial killings increase over time. Those responsible for
the said killings still roam free in our country because of their often reasoning that the
suspect resisted while on their ongoing operation called Oplan Tokhang, even though
most cases do not have enough evidence that the suspect indeed resisted. In addition,
the main goal of their operation is to approach and talk. Nevertheless, it ends up in
police brutality.

The 1987 Bill of Rights is coherent, subtle, and effective. It discusses every right
of Filipino citizens. It also protects Filipino citizens from abuse and violation by the
government or other individuals. It also creates balance in our society; therefore, no
one could empower the government or the governed. If the 1987 Bill of Rights were
taught carefully to every Filipino citizen, our country would be peaceful.
