WH 920_GB_2010_03 7 velino Maintenance manual General 1 General This maintenance manual refers to the ThyssenKrupp WEMsIIO escalator. The maintenance manual is valid for Safety Check Preventive Maintenance (SCPM) and Safety Inspection Preventive Maintenance (SIPM).. Chapter 2 describes the external check that has to be conducted at the beginning of every maintenance operation. This only involves a visual check or listening for any unusual noises. Any defects detected during this inspection have to be noted and repaired at a later time after consultation with the operator. If, during the maintenance work, you should detect any safety defects that impair the operating safety of the escalator, you must shut down the escalator immediately. The operator shall be informed of the safety defect. Chapters 3 and 4 describe the work during the safety check preventive maintenance (ScPM). The SCPM has to be carried out in accordance with the climate class table or at scheduled intervals as specified in the maintenance agreement. Chapter 5 describes the additional work for Safety Inspection Preventive Maintenance (SIM). 1.1. Symbols and their meanings This maintenance manual uses symbols and terminology that are intended to the help the user find information faster and more effectively. These symbols and terms are explained in the following. : The separate steps in this maintenance manual are arranged in a logical order. On the one hand, this avoids duplicating any work and also means that no task is forgotten. By necessity all possible versions of an escalator wil be listed in this maintenance manual. Any maintenance items that are not present on an escalator can be skipped in the working sequence. They have to be crossed out or marked as not present in the maintenance report. > For the experienced technician, the activities that he has to carry out are marked by a thick arrow (>) on the left-hand side, ~ If necessary, further explanations and/or comments on this work are described below and marked with a dash (-) on the left-hand side. '» Responses to or effects of an action are marked by a small arrow ( #) on the left-hand side. 8 WH 920_GB_2010_03 velino General Maintenance manual The following symbols, listed below, are used for marking in this maintenance manual. te NOTE: this symbol is used where spec information is to be noted. CAUTION This symbol is used to indicate a danger or situation that may result in harm to man. ‘and machine. The type of danger and its source, as well as measures to avoid this danger, are explained. WARNING This symbol is used to indicate particularly important information that must be /\ observed at all costs. WARNING danger from electricity! Note on the maintenance report NOTE: The maintenance report in this manual should not be filled in but only copied for each escalator. ‘The numbering of the headings in the individual chapters matches the numbering in the maintenance report. 1.3.1 Note on the service report You will find a service report in the Annex to this manual. Use this form when you require support from the Service Hotline, To obtain quick and qualified support, send the completed service report to the address siven. 1.4 Conditions of warranty The lasting availablly of an escalator can be guaranteed only ift receives regular and properly carried out maintenance. Only trained personnel certified by Thyssenkrupp Fahrtreppen GmbH are allowed to carry out repairs, maintenance and settings and to replace parts. Failure to observe this condition will immediately cancel the warranty. WH 920_GB_2010_03 i velino Maintenance manual General 1.5 Notes on the inspection mode of the FT900 e-escalator Ifyou manually open a safety contact to test its function during maintenance in the inspection mode, the safety monitor switches off. You have to reset the safety monitor with the key-operated switch; the escalator does not start up during the process. You have to repeat this operation after every test of a safety contact. ‘The reset operation using the key-operated switch has to be completed within one second; otherwise the signal will be detected as faulty and the safety monitor will remain switched off. NOTE: If a safety contact has been broken by a fault, you first have to determine the cause of the fault and rectify it. 1.5.1 Recommissioning for the FT900 e-escalator After a STOP has been triggered by a safety switch or push button switch (see Figure), the key-operated switch has to be operated once.
