A FLOWER FOR TIME.

The grown-ups said to me

“You can only stay up till nine!”
Oh, I wish I could have stayed up all night!
Wish I could give Time a flower…and befriend it.

The teachers declared out loud

“Last fifteen minutes!” – I start hurrying,
But the teacher snatches away my sheet
How I wish I could give Time a flower…and befriend it!

My boss wants me to finish by tonight

Haven’t slept the last three days
Working on this infernal presentation
Damn it! Can’t I give Time a flower…and befriend it?!

The wedding bells are going to sound soon, they say

Her hand is in mine and we’re exchanging smiles
Truly countless flowers, scattered around us…
But not one I can gift Time…and befriend it.
We’ve scaled the highest mountain
We’ve braved the stormiest sea
We could’ve ticked off every item we could think of
If I only I could give Time a flower…and…befriend it?

Time hasn’t been nice to me.

I’m not the man I once was…
The once-daredevil is now an arthritic.
Wouldn’t have happened if I could’ve befriended him.

I used to wish I could stay up all night

Haha, just an old joke I share with my sleeping pills
I lay down all day…and stare all night
At the moving shadow of the tree outside my window
It’s winter…there are no flowers…and neither is there time.

I’m lying in this unknown white room

Everything seems to be going slow
I think I heard the doctor say far away
“He has at most half an hour”
No…wait…I have to give a flower to time and…
