DRUG DE-ADDICTION AND REHABILITATION CENTRE

1.2 OBJECTIVE

• To re-evaluate drug rehabilitation centre so that it transforms from a cold

accommodation to become home.
• To provide a centre which help patients seek relief and recovery from serious
addictions by improving the health of the mind, body and soul.
• To use ‘nature as therapy through architecture’ with the implementation of various
concepts in design.
• To add holistic approach to treatment by creating a therapeutic platform for patients.

1.3 SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

The project focuses on the entire process of addiction in a human life as well as the
psychology and habits of the patient. It concentrates on finding out what implications
would be there if an effort is made to understand the cycle of drug addiction and the
therapeutic role of architecture during the entire healing process of the patients. The
campus will also include residential facilities for staff members (nurses, wardboys and
hospitality staff)

This project takes on the challenge of introducing a rehabilitation centre within an urban
context, away from the therapeutic effects of a rural environment. The challenge is
therefore to generate the therapeutic effects of a rural environment within an urban
context.
