Heading for 2050

Introduction
The report focus on the current and future technological advances in Romania. Also, this
report includes three aspects based on work, travel and home.

Adapting work with technology

The future will have a good impact on the work, because the technology will drastically
change and will make the people’s job much easier. According to an interview of Anand Chopra
McGowan for the article “Will jobs exist in 2050?”1, workers of the future will need to be highly
adaptable and juggle three or more different roles at a time.

Travelling safer and faster in the near future

In Romania the travel will become much faster and safer. Regardless of the type of vehicle
used, the specialists claim that in the future an automatic and cotrolled traffic system will be
developed. This system will have the role of eliminating human errors and minimizing accidents.

Technology against nature for a more protective house

According to the article “Cum isi imagineaza romanii viitorul?”2 , because of the effects of the
climate change environments will be built to provide protection against extreme weather events. Thus,
underground and underwater dwellings are considered survival solutions. The technology will
transform homes into collectors and stores of energy, with electricity, now generated by non-fossil
fuel, most likely to be used to heat homes and hot water.

In conclusion the future will bring a lot of changes in Romania, because the technology will
continue to develop faster and faster and these changes of work, travel and home are inevitable and
also predictable.
