HOT & COLD WASH TESTING

1. PURPOSE
To establish a procedure for hot & cold wash testing.

2. SCOPE
The procedure applies to test of material at pinnacle laboratory.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Manager is responsible to ensure the compliance of this procedure.

4. PROCEDURE
4.1 Take 10 Sample Bags for 300gms to 400gms flakes from container.
4.2 Take 200gms sample for test.
4.3 Put the flakes in tray for sorting the label, rubber, metal and other impurities and
note down the weight of each material found in sample and calculate ppm.
4.4 Put the sample flaks in tray of Aluminum foil and place in oven at 215Ċ for one hour.
4.5 Remove Aluminum tray from Oven and place in another tray for cooling 05 to 10
minutes.
4.6 Start Sample Sorting, if found Flakes Poly Vinyl Chloride (FPVC) and Label Poly Vinyl
Chloride (LPVC) in sample to calculate its PPM.

Formula:
Weight of FPVC (OR) LPVC in gram ÷ Sample weight in gram × 1000000
Example:
Weight of FPVC = 0.012gms
Sample weight = 230gms
Calculation:
0.012 ÷ 230 × 1000000 = 52 PPM
Range:
Range of total PVC is less than 250 PPM
