Basic Offence

The following combinations you’re about to see were selected for this Chapter because they are some of
my personal favourite basic combinations. Not only will these basics help build your striking foundation,
allowing you to build off of in later Chapters when combinations and strikes become more advanced,
but these are the primary combinations I use in my actual fights. In addition, these combinations are
some of the easiest to learn and apply in sparring.

If you’ve been following me for some time, you should recognize all these combinations already. But, I
will be going through micro technical details of how I execute each strike, and why I perform them the
way I do.

You’ll notice that all the following basic combinations go from left to right, and right to left, which
generates momentum in your strikes. But as we get into more advanced combinations in the Chapters,
you will see left left, or right right combinations to make it more unorthodox.

Lastly, something I’d like you all to constantly remind yourself is that you don’t need many combinations
or tactics, you only need a couple that work best for you. You then take those combinations and drill
them until they come out instinctually. When I am drilling during fight camp, I am repping the same
combinations I plan to use in a fight over and over again.
