A) STUDY ON EXPERIMENTAL OF STEEL OF REINFORCEMENT AS BAMBOO

(Sutharsan et al., 2020)

Building is a vital aspect of human civilization. It has the identity of the human race in

the developmental ladder. The magnificence of a building is dictated primarily by the financial

reasons. Two components, namely labor and material, significantly impact the cost of a project.

Since work is essential to efficiency, alternatives for the materials used can be produced. For

materials such as cement and sand, researchers have offered replacements. But a robust

substitute for reinforcement was not applied. This article therefore concentrates on the options

for substitution of strengthening with seasoned bamboo, showing positive test results. Several

tests such as tensile testing, double shear and bending tests were performed on the bamboo

specimen and favorable results were observed. This approach also acts as a rescue tool for large

steel production pollution. The test findings and analyses show that bamboo can be utilized as an

option for strengthening and can be used.

B) My reaction: I believe that substituting steel for bamboo is only appropriate for

single-floor structures when it cannot tolerate additional loads from two and multi-floor

buildings. Nice initiative to substitute steel should be the key since steel production emits a
greater quantity of carbon content into the atmosphere that causes us and our future generations a

very harmful environment. Where bamboo replacement reflects the whole cost of the

construction, because bamboo cost is much lower than steel. The direct use of bamboo in the

construction is particularly harmful because a seasoning procedure must be carried out before

use in building work.

C) Bamboo, which is used as concrete enhancement, deflects more because of its low

density, but reaches a bending strength virtually similar to steel reinforcement concrete. It can

therefore also be employed/used as in members taking lighter loads, such as parking roof

slabs, public bathrooms, and cabins for guards and sunshades. It also contributes to cost

efficiency and decreases the environmental impact that steel production costs.
