MYTHS AND HEROES

Today I am going to speak about the notion myths and heroes , myths is
a story or a popular belief that may or may not be true , but at least
some parts of it is true , these stories of myths has a symbolic power
and these may be a major reason why they survive as long as they do , a
hero is a person who’s admired by people for their bravour , courage ,
outstanding achievements , noble qualities , a hero is also any person
intent on making a better place for all people .
I chose the document “to protect and to serve “ to explore this notion .
the question asked is how did Tom Palmer represent the fireman and
policeman as heroes ?

First of all, a hero is a person who have accomplish feats of courage, as

save people or take risk for the others. In the painting “to protect and to
serve”, the policeman and the firemen who are ready to risk their life for
their country, can be considered like heroes. Moreover, after the
terrorist attack against the twins tower in New York, the policemen and
the fireman are even more admired because the people need to feel
protect, and the image of hero is reassuring.
Also,a hero is a person with some qualities like the courage, the
generosity, the strenght and lot of others. Some jobs requires this
qualities. Moreover the policeman and the fireman at the top of painting,
are representing like determined, contrast to the demolished building
around them. In fact, the soldiers, the policeman, the fireman and others
are devoted their time and their life for help and protect their country,
so they are clearly embody the notion of heroes

to conclude myths and heroes change us , change our lives and our
vision of the world . heroes , through their actions show us that with
determination and faith everything is possible . Myths for their part ,
most of the time allow us to dream of a world where everything is
magical beautiful and mystic . They make us dream dreams make us
hope and hope makes us believe .and , if we believe in everything , that
we can change the world we are living in .
