This activity will contribute to your successful completion of Assignment 4.

In Modules 1 and 2 we discussed economic, political, and legal variables related to the
international marketing task model (Exhibit 1.3) from Chapter 1 in your textbook.
Another critical, uncontrollable variable from this model is the level of technology.

Instructions
Post your contribution (approximately 250 words) to the following:

Evaluate the influence of Information Technology (IT) on the economic and social
environment. Provide examples of how IT is influencing other uncontrollable variables
from the international marketing task model. What is the impact of IT on the
disappearance of current job positions and the creation of new ones? What is the
influence of IT on current lifestyles, consumer behavior patterns, and marketing
segments across countries?

Read other learners’ discussion posts and add your thoughts and ideas. As a way of
expanding the discussion topic, feel free to post related questions for your fellow
students in the course.

Remember, you may be the first person to post to this discussion board. If there are no
other postings, add your post and revisit this discussion topic later to see what others
have said about the significance of cultural differences between nations and cultural
variations within nations.

Note
Discussions are an important contribution to the learning community for this course
and in helping you successfully complete Assignment 4 where you are asked to
demonstrate your learning and contribution to the discussion forum.
Answer: Information technology has an impact on the economic and social environment of
the organization. With the advancement in the technology, there are many new machines and
equipment that have taken the place of manual work. The work is done in minutes and
seconds now that used to take a long time earlier in the past. An examples is the reduction in
the labor costs for companies because there is no need to pay to the employees for working as
that work can be completed by the machines.
