Q1/Based on the information provided about the trait approach in Tables 2.1 and 2.2,

if you were Sandra, whom would you select?

A1/ The most fitting person for this position in my opinion is Thomas that is because:

 Thomas has many traits that work will with this position, which is intelligence,

Integrity, self-confidence, problem solving, and so many other traits.

 He is a consultant in strategic planning and corporate direction setting. So, he

is the most suitable person for directing.

 Thomas has a very positive influence for those who worked under him.

Q2/In what ways is the trait approach helpful in this type of selection?

A2/ It helps to choose the best candidates by narrowing down their characteristic traits

to make the best selection.

Q3/ In what ways are the weaknesses of the trait approach highlighted in this case?

A3/ The trait approach weakness is that all candidates may have a number of traits,

but we can’t specify the best trait, so based on that we can’t make a good decision

using the trait approach.
