ABSTRACT

Mobile telephony is not a matter of radio waves and electronics, but rather human

communication. People need to talk to each other, and that need has been paramount from

the day of existence. Communication is vital for one’s survival. Without talking to each

other, you would quickly be thrashed by the elements or even your own loneliness

(Ehrenkrona, nd). It is a common truth that cellphones depend on its battery life to

function, in which once it becomes drained you will need to charge it with the use of

electricity. But what if you are placed in a predicament where electricity is not available

and telecommunication is crucial to rescue you from the said emergency. This is the

reason why the researchers came up with this study. A device that could help people

charge their mobile devices in time of extremities. This was done by utilizing multi-celled

power sources, namely two AA batteries and two type D batteries; an 18,650 rechargeable

battery; and two identical 5V solar panel all soldered together to form a series circuit

connection. The study utilized an Experimental type of research, where it aimed to

produce a product to help the people and the community when there is no electricity. In

order to test the feasibility of the developed product and study, a series of tests and

analyses were conducted. The study primarily focused in recording the results on how

long the product would charge mobile yes

devices until it ran out of power. And the average power increase of a mobile device’s

battery when charged by the multiple power cells, found in the deemed developed product

at a time interval of 30 minutes. The results of the invention were then compared to an

existing 10,000 mAh power bank, to determine which is more convenient and faster in

charging. After the undertaking, the researchers found out that the charging rate of the 2

AA batteries and two type D batteries were significantly slower and had a lesser amount

of power added in charging mobile devices, when compared to the charging capabilities of

the 10,00 mAh power bank. In which the two disposable batteries, respectively, can

increase the battery percentage of a mobile device from 0% to 1.4% in 30 minutes and

from 0% to 3.4% 18%. In addition, the two type D batteries and provide 48% battery

percentage to an empty celled phone, in approximately 420 minutes. While the two AA batteries

can provide 18% battery percentage in approximately 390 minutes . Although these numbers

are considered small, however when in times of emergencies where an electrical outlet is

not an option, these numbers are deemed to be important and more than enough to contact

emergency services or personnel.

teaching, supporting, and giving us extensive knowledge needed to make our research
possible.
We may have gone through some difficult times where things seemed impossible
to accomplish, but with their presence everything went just fell into place. From grade 7
to the current grade 10 research teacher, we are very thankful for your guidance and
kindness for helping us.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our ever supportive and
understanding research co-advisor Mr. Nolan Alvear for guiding us making our product
and being there whenever we needed help.
Our research, wouldn’t truly be what it is right now without him by our side. We
would also like to express our acknowledgement to other teachers who helped us in
fulfilling our research study.
To our research panelist who critiqued our research, we thank you deeply for the
commentary you’ve lent as it encouraged us to make our study better.
To our classmates and friends whom we have experienced our hardships together,
we truly thank you for making our time doing research more fun. We would have not
been able to attain and make our research successful if it weren’t for you guys.
From deep within our hearts, we express our heartfelt gratitude for making great
memories together, conducting and learning all there is to know about research
throughout the years.
Lastly, we would like to express our sincere and deepest gratitude to our parents
who supported us in making our research.
From a financial aspect to an emotional aspect, we truly thank you for being with
us and supporting us despite our shortcomings and with the ongoing pandemic. We
wouldn’t have known what our research study would have become if it weren’t for all
your endless support, prayers, and love towards us.
