The autor:
The Harry Potter series are written by the British writer J.K. Rowling, she came up with the story during a
train journey from Manchester to London. Her name is actually Joanne Rowling. She was born in July 1965
in Bristol. She studied French and Classical Culture at the University of Exeter, after her studies she went
to Portugal to teach English, were she also met Jorge Arantes, who she married. She also got a daughter
with him, the marriage did not last long. When she went back to England she wrote the Harry Potter series
that raised 8 billion dollars, in 2003 she was even the richest woman in England. She mainly writes fantasy
and detectives. Now she lived in Edinburgh and is married to Neil Murray. She also has a daughter and a
son with him.
Fiction or Non-Fiction:
The book is definitely fiction because in this book there are happening things that can’t be happening in real
life, like Harry Potters parents were killed by the evil and he is a wizard. All the books of J.K. Rowling are
fiction.

Genre:
The main Genre of this book is fantasy because everything is made-up by her fantasy and when you read it
you just know that’s fiction because it’s not like it can really happened in real life like that someone is
missing of like that.
The second genre is horror because I was a little bit scared because there were people murdered and
sometimes it was like it really happened and during the book he went to multiple thinsg and worse things
happened that people really could be scared of.

Themes:
- Love because the mother of harry potter offered herself to got killed so he saved Harry Potter and
that’s mother love.
- Choice because everything what he choose is an important decision were can be a live on and with
the wrong decision could happened something worse.
- Friendship because on the school he made some friends and they show what real friendship is
because they help each other with so much things.
- Family because he missed even the family that he never had and wanted to do everything to kill the
murderer of his parents that he never knew.

Plot:
One day Harry received a letter from a magic school, were they say in the letter that he is wizard. Harry
goes to Hogwarts ( that’s a school for wizards ). At Hogwarts he meets Ron and Hermione, that are his
bestfriends at school. At school he also meets Dumbledore, the headmaster of the school. All the students
are classified. The departments are: Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. Harry is assigned to
Gryffindor. At school they often played Quidditch, Quidditch is a ballgame where you have to fly on your
broomstick and score with the ball in a ring. Later in the story Harry, Ron and Hermione arrive on the
third floor. There they found that there is a philosopher’s stone, the stone gives the owner eternal life. They
think that there is a monster at the stone. They want to steal it because they think that someone else wants to
steal it. When they walked in the room Harry arrived at the stone but he is alone. When he was there he saw
Krinkel but then Voldemort was in the body, he’s the teacher of Black Magic. They had a fight and Harry
fainted, when he woke up, there was someone next to him, he saw that it was Dumbledore (the head of the
school.) He says that Voldemort has been resurrected and that the philosopher stone is destroyed. Because
the stone is destroyed, Ron and Hermione are safe now. Before Harry wanted to go back to his Uncle and
Aunt, Gryffindor won the department cup. After he won it, they said goodbye and Harry went back to his
Uncle and Aunt by train. Everything ended well and they live a nice life, Ron and Hermione get married and
Harry got married to with a woman and got 3 children with her.
SubPlot:
Harry was 3 years old when his parents were killed by Voldemort. Voldemort is a dangerous wizard. He
wanted to kill harry and his sister, but the parents of the kids offered themselves to got killed so they could
save Harry and his sister. After the death of Harry’s parents he lived at his uncle and aunt. Were he lived
until his 13th, when he was 13 he went to Hogwart ( a wizard school) and he could sleep there so that was
his new home. He got bullied by the cousin and his aunt and uncle. Harry had to do all of the stuff that they
didn’t want to do, and Harry even had to sleep in the closet underneath the stairs. When Hagrid picked him
up at his birthday and told him that he is a wizard he was very happy and then he went to Hogwarts.

Characters:
Main: Harry Potter
Harry Potter is the son of James and Lily Potter. Because of a prophecy, an attempt is made to kill Harry at
the age of one. In this prophecy the greatest threat from Voldemort is described. Harry's best friends are
two fellow students Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Like most British wizards, they study at Hogwarts.
He has good personality traits such as generosity, kindness and forgiveness. Harry also seems very adept at
defence in the Black Arts. He later decides to become a spectator. Someone who hunts for dangerous
criminals.
Harry marries Ginny Weasley in the last book and has three children with her.

Ron Wemel:
Ron Weasley is the son of Arthur and Molly Weasley. He is the best friend of Harry and Hermione (whom
he later marries). Ron is a loyal person and takes good care of the fact that not him, but Harry is in the
spotlight

Hermelien Griffel:
Hermione Granger comes from a Muggle family. She is the smartest in class and can read quickly. She can
remember what she hears and reads. Everyone calls her a know-it-all. For the time being she is the best
friend of Harry and Ron. Later Hermione marries Ron. They have two children.
