Touch 'n Go

The Malaysian Touch 'n Go card is an e-wallet that can be used on all Malaysian highways,
the public transport system in Klang Valley, some parking lots and theme parks as an
electronic payment system. The card, which resembles a credit card uses contactless
smartcard technology. Users can use the card as long as electronic money is pre-deposited.
Cardholders are given the opportunity to re-fill their cards in a variety of places including gas
stations, ATMs, railway stations and approved third-party businesses. Fill values range from
20 to 500 ringgits (Man and Yoke Kyng, 2007).
The Touch 'n Go card offers consumers a simple and convenient opportunity to make non-
cash transactions with small amounts. For the consumer, the Touch ‘n Go card provides a
number of benefits; with a Touch ‘n Go card, users no longer have to prepare for exact
change, fish around in their wallets for loose change, or wait for attendants to give them small
change. In addition, usage of this card is fast and convenient, Touch ‘n Go’s dedicated toll
lanes ensure that consumers can smoothly drive their cars through tollgates without waiting
in line compared to other non-card users (Touch ‘n Go, n.d.).

Currenseek
CurrenSeek is an award-winning Fintech platform that allows all participants in the currency
exchange market to publish or learn about secure exchange rates online.
Travellers don’t often know where most licensed money changers (LMCs) or bank changers
(BdCs) are located, nor do they know how exchange rates can differ between different money
changers. Even within walking distance, prices often vary by 30%, or 200% or more in
extreme cases (F6S Network Limited, 2021).
The CurrenSeek team claims that their services save up to 200% of travel costs. In the
application, a map shows various locations of currency exchange outlets and exchange rates.
When users indicate the amount they would like to exchange, the program shows an outline
of all exchange rates and the disparity between them. One major benefit of this app is its
social aspect, consumers can share the best price with their friends and family. This is
especially useful for people traveling in large groups, as when people are told of an outlet
with opportune exchange rates, they can subsequently navigate to the exact location with the
best rates and cut down on their travel cost collectively (Khoo, 2015).
