Webinar on National Statistics Day-2021 at CSKHPAU

 Palampur 29 June. To celebrate 'National Statistics Day-2021', a webinar was organized at CSK Himachal
Pradesh Agriculture University, here today.

Chief Guest Prof. H.K.Chaudhary, Vice-Chancellor, discussed various statistical techniques to improve

research in the field of agriculture and allied sciences.  He exhorted the youngsters to understand
the importance of statistics and its role in the day to day life. Prof Chaudhary recalled the contributions
of Prof. Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, on whose birth anniversary this day is celebrated. Guest of
honor and keynote speaker Prof. Narinder Kumar from Deptt. of Statistics, Panjab University,
Chandigarh  spoke on the evolution of statistics from the beginning of civilization to the modern era.
Prof. Anita Singh, Dean College of Basic Sciences, Prof. Sharda Singh, Head, Department of Physical
Sciences and Languages, Mr. Arun Kumar and Dr. Banti Kumar were the organizing secretaries whereas
Sh. Kapil Sharma and Sh. Kunal Sood were the technical coordinators of the event. Also, more than 250
participants and research Scholars attended the webinar
