Pursuant to the Hon'ble Delhi High Court's order dated 27.05.2021, IRDAI consulted General and Health Insurance Companies seeking their views on offering “Home care /Domiciliary treatment” for the policyholders of the existing products. 2. The responses given by insurers were examined, insurers are advised to explore the feasibility of offering *Home Care treatment" and / or “Domiciliary treatment’ as an add-on cover to the existing health insurance products to enable the policyholders to exercise the option of having “Home Care /Domiciliary treatment" in respect of their existing policies wherever such coverage is not available slready. 3. Wherever insurers propose to offer “Home Care treatment or Demiciliary treatment” as an add-on cover, insurers shall file the product with IRDAT as per IRDAI Guidelines on Product Filing in Health Insurance Business and obtain unique identification number (UIN) 4, While offering Home Care treatment the same shall be defined in the Add-on cover as under: Home Care Treatment means treatment availed by the Insured Person at home which in normal course would require care and treatment at a hospital but is actually taken at home provided that: a) The Medical practitioner advices thé Insured person to uadergo treatment at home. by There is @ continuous active line of treatment with monitoring of the health ‘status by a medical practitioner for each day through the curation of the home care treatment. ©) Daily monitoring chart including records of treatment administered chuly signed by the treating doctor is maintained. 5. Norms on settlement of ‘Home Care treatment” claims shall be specified in the policy document and prospectus. 6. Insurers may offer the aforementioned add-on cover to all the existing policy holders during mid-term also by charging appropriate additional premium for the residual term of the policy year. $7 Franc at nema, ed 0082 Page 2of2 7. Premium for offering the add-on cover during the term of policy shall be specified in the premium tables. 8, Where the above referred add-on covers for providing ‘Home Care treatment” and / or ‘Domiciliary treatment” are offered, all existing policyholders shall be notified about the availability of these add-on’ covers and shall facilitate the purchase of add-on covers with complete informed choice. 9, Insurers are also advised to give wide publicity for Corona Kavach Policy and all health insurance policies so that public can avail of the protection, ‘This has the approval of the competent authority. wo exh) General Manager (Health) rysoanassoneaz Page 20f2
