Gauge
12 sts and 16 rows =4”x4” measured over stockinette stitch using US11 (8mm/
UK0) needles and 3 strands of yarn held together.
Check your gauge - if less stitches or rows use smaller needles, if more use
larger needles.

NOTE: the sweater is worked using 3 strands of

BACK
Using US11 needles and 3 strands of yarn held
together, cast on 106 [112:116] sts.
Work 4 rows in st st (1 row k, 1 row p) starting with
a k row.

Commence cable panel and eyelet shaping
Row 1: K21 [24:26], place a stitch marker on
needle, k11, yo, sl 1-k1-psso, k1, place a stitch

Row 1: K3, k3tog, k to marker, sm, work row 9 of
cable panel, sm, k to last 6 sts, sl 1-k2tog-psso, k3.
Row 2: P to end, slipping markers.
Row 3: K to marker, sm, work row 11 of cable
panel, sm, k to end.
Row 4: P to end, slipping markers.
Keeping cable and eyelet panels correct as far as
possible and always working 3 sts in st st at each
end, rep rows 1 to 4 until 34 sts remain, ending
with row 2.
Shape front neck
Next Row: K3, patt 9 sts, bind off 10 sts, patt to last
3 sts, k3.
Work each side of the neck separately.
Next Row (WS): P to end. 12 sts
Next Row: Bind off 2 sts at beg (neck edge), patt to
last 6 sts, sl 1-k2tog-psso, k3. 8 sts

Using US11 needles and 3 strands of yarn held
together, cast on 26 [28:30] sts.
Work 4 rows in st st, starting with a k row.
Next Row (hem fold line): K1, * k2tog, yo; rep from
* to last st, k1.
Next Row: P to end.
Commence cable panel and shaping
Row 1: K2 [3:4], place a stitch marker on needle,
work row 1 of cable panel working from * to * once
only, place a stitch marker on needle, k2 [3:4].
Markers divide cable panel and st st.
Row 2 and every foll WS row: P to end, slipping
markers.
Cont to work cable panel as set AT THE SAME
TIME inc 1 st at each end of next and every foll 4th
row (bringing inc sts into st st) to 50 [54:58] sts.
Cont in patt without shaping until sleeve measures
42cm (17in), ending with a WS row.
Shape raglan
Keeping cable panel correct, bind off 2 sts at beg
of next 2 rows. 46 [50:54] sts
Row 1: K3, k3tog, k to marker, sm, work cable
panel, sm, k to last 6 sts, sl 1-k2tog-psso, k3.
Row 2: P to end, slipping markers.
Row 3: K to marker, sm, work cable panel, sm, k
to end.
Row 4: P to end, slipping markers.
Keeping cable panel and eyelet panels correct as
far as possible and always working 3 sts in st st
at each end, rep rows 1 to 4 until 18 sts remain,
ending with row 2.
Shape top
Next Row: Patt 5 sts, bind off 8 sts, patt to end.
Work each side separately.
Next Row (WS): P to last 2 sts, p2tog. 4 sts
Next Row: K3tog, k1. 2 sts
P 1 row.
Bind off.
With WS of work facing, rejoin yarn to rem 5 sts.
Next Row (WS): P2tog, p to end. 4 sts
Next Row: Sl 1-k2tog-psso, k1. 2 sts
P 1 row.
Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew in all yarn ends neatly. Block or press the
pieces according to instructions on ball band. Join
front raglan seams. Join right back raglan seam.
Collar
With RS of work facing, using US11 needles and 3
strands of yarn held together, pick up and k 14 sts
around top of left sleeve, 7 sts down side of front
neck, 10 sts across front neck, 7 sts up side of neck,
14 sts around top of right sleeve and 26 sts across
back neck. 78 sts
Next Row (WS): P2, * k2, p2; rep from * to end.
Next Row: K2, * p2, k2; rep from * to end.
Rep these 2 rows until collar measures 20cm (8in).
Bind off in rib.
Join back raglan seam. Join collar, reversing seam
for turn back. join side and sleeve seams. Fold
hems on lower edge to the WS along eyelet row
and slip stitch in place.
