UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATING THE WORKS OF MODERN ARCHITECTS

The major aim of the assignment is to make the students to understand and analyse the ideology of
the modern architects and their approach towards a project.

The students can select a architect from the following list:

Then students has to select any work of the selected architect and analyze based on the given parameters:

About the Architect

 Biography
 Early to late stages of Architectural development by the Architect in different periods.
 Style & design(ideology) with sketches
 Philosophy
 Writings(Books or Journals)
 The list of important projects(any five)

Case Study

 Approach of the Architect towards the building design.

 Site Context – Topography, Vegetation, adjacent sites, views and vistas, approach towards
climate, ratio of built and open spaces etc…
 3 dimension and massing, solid and void in the form, structure of the building,materials etc..

LAST DATE FOR SUBMISSION :18/05/2020 the students will be marked ‘0’if fails to submit on date.

Note: This assignment mark will be considered as CAE II mark.
