Day

or intraday trading is a type of trading in which traders can buy and sell stocks at the

same time on the same day. Here, the main goal is to make quick profits and exit the
position as soon as possible. In addition, the waiting time can vary from a few minutes to
a specific time period. Usually, large beta stocks (that is, stocks whose prices fluctuate
greatly every day) are traded as intraday. If the price does not change throughout the
day, then buyers will not have the opportunity to get profit from the stock during the
day.

How to trade intraday

Step 1: Open Demat and trading account: you can open your trading and Demat account
from Kotak Securities by visiting https://www.kotaksecurities.com

Step 2: Margin balance availability: You must have sufficient margin in your

account (the minimum amount required for trading). Compared with MIS (Margin Closed
Intraday), the amount required to be marginalized is very different.

Step 3: Select assets: It is impossible to focus on all the stocks listed in NSE and BSE.

However, having a specific list of selected stocks allows us to take advantage of all
trading opportunities on the day.

Step 4: Choose a stock to trade: Now, we have two ways to buy transactions: (1)

market orders and (2) limited orders. If we choose market order, we can buy and sell at
the current market price. On the other hand, if we choose a limit order, we can choose
our own quotation.

Step 5: Choose the order type: The next thing to choose is the order

type, such as ordinary system or MIS system. If we choose a limit order,
the expected value will be the same as the current margin price. However, if we choose
the MIS system, the threshold required for trading varies between 5% and 20% of the
current stock price.
Step 6: Check the order: You can check whether the order is pending or executed by
clicking on the Order tab from the platform.

Step 7: Continuous monitoring: You must continuously monitor the current

market trends to take advantage of the opportunities for entering and exiting transaction
at the right time.
