Wheel selection – single or bogie wheel?

To a large extent, the selection of the fork wheel depends on experience
or traditions in the market.
Single wheels are preferable on even floors
and enables easy turning. The wear on a
single wheel, however, is higher. A single
wheel is always combined with a climbing
wheel at the fork tip for handling pallets on
the long side.
The bogie wheel travels better on uneven floors. Because the load is
distributed on more wheels, individual wheel wear is reduced.

2 – Product description

Wheels
Nylon
Easy rolling wheel on hard, even floors. Increased noise level compared
to softer wheels.

Polyuretan
Quiet running, but also heavier to pull.

Rubber
Only for the steering wheels. Makes the
hand truck very quiet and also provides
good grip on wet/slippery floors. Naturally,
it becomes harder to pull the truck.

Sales Guide – BT LIFTER 2–3

2 – Product description

Powerthane
Combines noiseless travel with high wear resistance.

Steel
Suitable for heavy industry. Easy rolling wheel that prevents chips and
other matter from sticking to the wheel.

Here we review the truck’s consumption of energy, oil and other con-
sumables during its usage. Since model L23 is hand operated we
can not talk about energy consumption in the usage process.

Oil change and other lubrication:

Life of truck 10 years
Hydraulic oil / life of truck 0.7 l
Grease and lubrication/ life of truck 0.1 l

Consumables:
Fork wheels / life of truck 4
Steering wheel / life of truck 2

Scrapping
The major content in an L23 hand pallet truck is steel which is
fully recyclable. In fact 92 % consists of steel. The hand pallet
trucks are sent to a waste management firm where the oil in
the hydraulic cylinder is taken care of and the steel is melted down.
