Did You Know You Can Use Special Time To Help In All These

Daily Moments?

 The morning routine: Many parents tell us it’s their go-to tool in the mornings, to
help with transitions, dressing and getting out of the house.
 Before challenging events: Like dinner and bedtime. Before a haircut, or church,
before a big family celebration, or a trip to the grocery store. Special Time boosts a
child’s connection.
 To reconnect after daycare or school: Give your child this time to offload any
feelings they’ve connected while being away from you. (It beats asking, “What did
you do today?” only to get a shrug in return).
 Before homework: Because Special Time really helps a child remember that you
are on their side.
 As behavior goes off track: Whether your child is full of complaints, running wild,
or is crawl-all-over-you clingy. Special Time helps your child feel seen and heard.
 When your child is scared: You can do Special Time at school, the dentist, or
doctor to increase your child’s sense of safety.
 During stressful times: When jobs are lost, family is sick, a pet goes missing, use
Special Time to maintain moments of warmth and positivity.

Dear Claudia,

Special Time gives you regular chances to delight in your child and project that joy
in a way they can really feel it. You see why these connecting times create a lifeline for
both of you when times are hard.

When you give to our Special Time fundraiser, you gift tools like this to other parents too.
