Introduction

In this document you will find the answer to a very significant question for our country
Colombia.


¿What country is known as the sugar bowl of the world?

Answer: Colombia

Why?

Since the 15th century America have had the fortune of having sugarcane crop, which

being so rich and innovative for many industries started to expand, throughout the whole

American continent until it reached our country Colombia. From the moment Sugarcane

arrived in our country at Popayan. It’s production industry started by creating industrial

products and we found along in the process more uses for this product which led to it’s

expansion among Colombian territory.

Due to our climates and fertile lands, sugar cane was gaining strength and therefore

bringing new sweet products and candies to Colombian market and it opened the

opportunity to export these sugar flavors and products to the whole world. Whick is why

we are the sugar bowl of the world.
