Cranford’s Township Committee received three proposals for the

redevelopment of North Avenue. The proposals were scored and one was
eliminated. The proposal that received the highest score includes a
four-story parking garage with 40-60 apartments located at Municipal Lot
1. (North Union Ave & Springfield)

The Township Committee has recommended that the planner draft a

redevelopment plan that could potentially develop the parking lot. One
recommendation states “Lot 6.01 should be activated to redevelop the
underutilized surface parking. Additional analysis should be completed to
evaluate the best utilization of Lot 6.01 in the redevelopment.”

We believe there should not be a draft without input from residents. Say
NO to any redevelopment that would include 40-60 apartments and a
parking garage on Lot 1.
