NEW HOSPITAL POLICY ON SMOKING

Yesterday, Dr. Barbara Park, director of Community Hospital, announced a new smoking policy. Hospital
employees are not allowed to smoke, either at work or at home. Employees will be tested every month to
see if they have been smoking recently. Any employee who fails the test will lose his or her job.

Task 1: Letter
What is your opinion about the hospital’s new policy? Write a letter to the hospital director telling her what
you think. Explain the reasons for your viewpoint. Begin your letter, “Dear Dr. Park.”
Dear Dr. Park, I am Gretty Martos this notice reached me for that reason I want
to share my opinion; First at all I don´t smoke so I think smoking is so unnecessary
and mortal
Wherefore I support the idea of the employees should be tested every month even
so ,I consider that the employees are adults and they have their own opinion and it
isn’t necessary to judge a person by their habits like smoking

To my mind main benefits are clear,with new policy, is a Good way to avoid cancer
and unhealthy life because Smoking damages nearly every organ in the body.
People can significantly reduce their chance of smoking-related disease by giving it
up. That´s why it's better start now to avoiding something related of smoke
because smoking is an addiction that is difficult to overcome.

A more serious problem, the nicotine and other poisonous chemicals in tobacco
cause lots of diseases, like heart problems and some kinds of cancer. If you smoke,
you hurt your lungs and heart each time you light up. It also can make it more
difficult for blood to move around in the body, so smokers may feel tired and
cranky and that for a hospital would be too disadvantageous for both pacient and
workers of hospital

In conclusion I would like to add that all of their workers are adults and maybe
they can make a decision about their body and it is so difficult to find a job and
losing their job for me is so hard and maybe the hospital can punish them if they
fail the test or give another opportunity.
