BSED EN 2-2D Ma’am Merriam Silin MY LEARNING JOURNAL Date: January 12, 2021 Lesson/Module No: Lesson 6: The 21st Century Teachers My Learnings: After the watching the video and reading the instructional material meant for this activity made me realize that I do have the skills that are needed in order to become a 21st century teacher. As a pre-service teacher, it is beneficial for us to exhibit those traits so that we can further enhance and develop the skills in the long run. I want to learn more about the challenges the 21 st century teachers face and how do they overcome these challenges. Before reading the material and watching the video, I have the idea that the teaching profession requires a lot of skills in order to teach effectively and to it takes a lot of courage to be able to explore new techniques and strategies for teaching. As a student, I love to try new things and I enjoy the idea of enhancing the skills I already have. This is because all the skills that I have will be show the manifestation on how I can effectively manage a diverse classroom. There are still a handful of skills that I lack and it is my responsibility to educate myself and to engage myself with activities that can help me develop competence in different aspects. In addition, during the sharing that me and my partner did, I realized that we have some skills that we both have and we also have difference in the skills that we exhibit. With the help of our difference in skills, we can help each other out by mentoring each other on how we can develop and enhance the skills that we both lack. Cooperation between your colleagues is also beneficial in order to have a harmonious professional relationship with each other. There are actually no problems that I encountered while answering the assigned activity for Lesson 6 because my partner cooperated with me well during our sharing and it was a fun experience getting to know his thoughts and ideas in this lesson.
