Significance of Drilling Macine

Drilling process are widely used in aerospace, aircraft, and automotive

industries. Although modern metal cutting methods have improved in the

manufacturing industry, like electron beam machining, ultrasonic machining,

electrolytic machining and abrasive jet machining, conventional drilling is still

the most common machining process (Kurt,2008 Bagci, 2008).

Advancements in modern motor design and electronics have introduced

the ability to control the drill using a knob electronically. Rather than altering

the gear ratio of the drill using a system of belts. Besides allowing more

seamless speed changes, this technology is impressive. The torque and

power of the drill can be preserved without changing the gear ratio

(Ericson,n.d.).
