LOI and Application Instructions

All letters of intent must be submitted through proposalCENTRAL (https://


proposalcentral.altum.com) by March 1, 2017. In order to begin an application, applicants will need
to create a professional profile, if one does not already exist. Please fill in all required fields in the
online application form.

Letter of Intent Instructions:


1) Title Page: Enter Project Title (maximum 250 characters, including spaces). Click on Save.
The OneLegacy Foundation will only pay no more than 10% indirects for any grant.
Fill in all the fields listed on the “Title” page. Any field with “*” next to it is a required field.

2) Download Templates & Instructions: download the instructions file for the LOI.

3) Enable Other Users to Access this Proposal: Use this optional section to grant access to a
collaborator or co-investigator or anyone else that you feel needs to see your application.

4) Applicant/PI: This section should auto-populate from the applicant’s professional profile. Double-
check that the information is complete and correct. If it is not, click Edit Professional Profile button
to update the information.

5) Institution & Contacts: Information should auto-populate from applicant’s profile.

6) Abstract: Enter in a “General Audience Summary” and a “Technical Audience Summary”. This
information will be used for the OneLegacy Grants and Gifts Committee to evaluate your project
and determine whether or not they would like for you to submit a full proposal.

7) Attachments: Upload your biosketch in .pdf format, and limit it to 5 pages or less. Applications
with more than 5 pages will require resubmission.

8) Validate: Click on this link to make sure all required information has been filled out for the
application. You will not be able to submit until all required information is included.

9) Submit: Click on the “Submit” link to submit the Letter of Intent Application.
Full Application Instructions:
1) Title Page: The Project Title from the LOI will automatically populate the field on the full
application. The amount requested and the type of project (Pilot or Feasibility) will also
populate for you.

2) Download Templates & Instructions: download the Guidelines and the Research Template.

3) Enable Other Users to Access this Proposal: Use this optional section to grant access to a
collaborator or co-investigator or anyone else that you feel needs to see your application.

4) Applicant/PI: This section should auto-populate from the applicant’s professional profile.
Double- check that the information is complete and correct. If it is not, click Edit Professional
Profile button to update the information.

5) Institution & Contacts: Information should auto-populate from applicant’s profile. Select the
Signing Official directly from the drop-down menu. If the Signing Official is not listed in your
institution or you would like to use a different Signing Official, you can add one by entering their
e-mail address.

6) Key Personnel: Add in any Key Personnel that will be working with you on your project.

Note: Not all information is required.

7) Abstract: The Abstract information will automatically carry over from the Letter of Intent. The
abstract can be edited in the full proposal.

8) Budget Summary: Fill out the Budget Summary information. The Non-Personnel Costs are
broken by category.

a) OneLegacy Foundation will pay no more than 10% overhead costs on any grant.

9) Organizational Assurances : All fields with an * next to it are required. The OHRP and OLAW
numbers populate directly from the institution profile.

10) Proposal Narrative and Other Attachments: Upload your “Research Plan”, “Signed Signature
Page” and “Biosketch” files in .pdf format.

11) Validate: This checks to make sure all required information has been completed and uploaded
to the application before it is submitted.
12) Print Application Attachments and Signature Page: This will allow you to print out your
application and related attachments.

13) Submit: Click on the “Submit” link to submit your application to the “OneLegacy Foundation”.
