It is used when you are talking about a completed action before something in the
past.
It is formed by using the word ‘had’ + Past Participle.
Examples:
a. When Julio went to Ka Ponso, he had written a letter for him.
b. Julio had arrived at their house before Fidela cooked dinner.
c. After Julio had eaten dinner, Fidela and her child went to sleep.
