Running head: ONWERSHIP POLICY CRITIQUE 1

Summary

The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) has a very thorough copyright policy. It would make

sense that the copyright policy would be thorough since the CAF is a federal government agency

that spans the entire country, employing thousands of people. Specifically, the policy addresses

in detail what to do about acquiring licenses to copyright material, how to acquire a license to

crown owned material, and ownership of material by both full-time employees and contracted

workers from outside the organization. There are no distinctions made for material produced for

a face-to-face environment or for a distance learning environment. With the policy being so

direct in saying that all material produced will belong to the CAF a distinction would not be

necessary. Also, this policy covers all copyright across the CAF and not just that of training and

education institutions.
