1. Three (3) things that you significantly learned from the reading
 Pre-colonial Filipinos are unlike from the Filipinos after the Spanish period. This shows
that even before the Spanish came to the Philippines, we already have established our
original way of living. The Filipinos possessed an elaborate civilization in the past, but
because of the colonization of different countries, our perception about pre-colonial
Filipinos is distorted, and somehow it’s gone.
 Folk songs are also great because they make it so easy to teach history and culture. ...
Students also love learning about the history of songs. Kids marvel when they learn how
old a song is and find out that people have danced and played and sung these songs for
decades and even centuries.
 Philippine mythology is much more important. It gave our ancestors a sense of direction
and helped them explain everything from the origin of mankind to the existence of
diseases. It was not just a belief in invisible higher beings. It defined who they were and
what they’re supposed to do.

2. Three (3) things that is still unclear to me

 The importance or benefits of maxim- during the time of my reading I am extremely
curious on what maxim is all about. After that I’ll read some information about it, it may
be about love, loyalty or optimism.
 The rebirth of freedom in which this is marked as a kind of struggles of mind and spirit.
 Period of Activism during this period that the youth at their young age moved to seek
reforms.

3. I used to think that without the Philippine mythology, we all Filipino didn’t learn who we are
and where we came from. We didn’t also know the important role of it which is to become a
foundation for a lot of religions in our country.

4. Three (3) questions that I want to ask about the readings

 What makes a Filipino? Many definitions we considered on how we make a true Filipino.
But being a Filipino is such I am very proud for.
 Are the Philippine myths shows that ancient Filipinos believed in one supreme god and
in a number of lesser gods and goddesses? This is one thing that I am curious about it.
As I read an article it says that ancients Filipinos believed in many gods including anitos
and many forms of godly being so this is not true.
 Who controls everything? The most question trigger in my minds that’s my searching
and readings is the best way to find out. One thing I’ve read is that saying nobody rules
100% of the world. There is always a small piece up for grabs. However, there is a small
group that controls a good 80% of everything, including the government.
