The groups of student will then proceed to think of their own set of 5 variables/data and
will classify them as a) either qualitative or quantitative; b) if quantitative, as either discrete
or continuous; and c) classify the data according to level of measurement.
1. COVID19 POSITIVITY RATE – Rate of positive results out of total test done. This
is more significant than actual tests done since studies show that to control the
pandemic, positivity has to fall below 5% of tests done – which indicates enough
tests and contact tracing are done.

B. Continuous
C. Ratio
2. GDP. Gross domestic product is the total monetary or market value of all the
finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time
period. Philippine GDP shrinks by record 9.5% in 2020.

4. FIBONACCI SEQUENCE. In mathematics, the Fibonacci numbers, commonly denoted Fn,
form a sequence, called the Fibonacci sequence, such that each number is the sum of the two
preceding ones, starting from 0 and 1. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21

5. LOTTO WINNING NUMBERS. Winning numbers are usually spread across the
entire number field. If we take a number field and cut it in half, we have the low half
and the high half. In a 42-number game such as Filipino National Lottery, numbers
1 to 21 would be in the low half, and numbers 22 to 42 would be in the high half.
All high numbers or all low numbers are rarely drawn, occurring only 1 percent of
the time. The best mix is to have 2/4, 4/2 or 3/3, which means two high and four
low, or four high and two low, or three high and three low. Winning number groups
with these three patterns occur in 78 percent of all drawings.
