Week 2 DQ 1

The upcoming PA is based on the Hy, Diaries, Inc. case study which reflects the common

problem found in an organization. This six-peer review article that I have selected for my

assignment are broadly categorized and explained the usage of the article in my upcoming PA

assignment.

Article 1 Stereotyping and women’s roles in leadership positions.

Summary of the article

This article focuses on the current trends with regard to women in leadership positions. It

talks about wrong gender stereotyping and the harmful effects caused by the stereotyping.

leadership positions. Women are increasingly reported as having excellent leadership skills.

Women are praised for having traits and styles that are associated with effective leadership

positions.

explained in article. This article will help me to prove my point that employers should be

encouraged to hire and promote women into their corporation’s top leadership positions.

Article 2 Role perceptions, satisfaction and performance moderated by organization

level and participation in decision making

Summary of the article

The article explores how each person’s experience varies and how this influence employee

satisfaction, which is a factor in how well they perform at work. Every person’s perception is

influenced by their social environment, values and beliefs, and how they respond to a given
subject. Employee satisfaction, performance, commitment, and productivity are all essential

factors to consider.

Purpose of the article in PA

The case for the PA assignment also addresses the role of perception in a person’s

performance and behaviors, as well as the probability conflict, which is applicable to this

article.

Article 3 Identity Theory and Social Identity Theory

Summary of the article

This article discusses the negative and unequal implications of community favoritism. This

theory explains why an individual’s experienced is valued less than that of a group. People

also make conclusions based on group or category rather than individual characteristics.

Typically, the social identity theory’s subgroups are based on race, color, and social status.

This discrimination creates an inequitable atmosphere because leaders can make assumptions

about success or career goals based on group’s race. Inequities can manifest themselves in a

variety of the ways. “One way that organizations produce disparity is by paying different

groups of workers significantly different wages, benefits, and levels of independence and

autonomy inside employment”.

Purpose of the article in PA

It is possible to have issue in the case study when Gilman gives Richelle a role without

considering her point of view or aspirations, and lacks the understanding of how to work with

people from various backgrounds. It explains that the perception of an individual is less

valued than the perception of the group which is related to this article.
Article 4 Workforce Diversity and Individual differences: Implication for employee

management.

Summary of the article

and it shines through.
