FOREWORD ‘This instruction manual has been prepared for operators who will run the machin, ‘The manual itsel's divided into sections. n the first section, detailed information concerning controls on the operation panel are provided, and in the second and third sections actual ‘machine operation procedure in manual and eutomatic modes are indicated, respectively. in Addition, other information necessary for running the machine are also provided in later sections. ‘The contents of this manual will provide the user with complete details on the operation of ‘this machine. The operators having enough experiences in numerically controlled lathes os well fas those who handle them for the first time are required to read this manual eaefully so thet ‘the machine ean provide its best performance and improved efficiency. Instructions detailed in 1.2 are all related to safety operation: To avoid unexpected hazards to operators and damage of machine, read them carefully and observe them without fail MAZATROL T-1 is a new NC unit which goes beyond the conventional concepts of NC units Its main functions are 1. Fully integrated mechanical and electrical features 2. Tape-less MDI system 3. Menu system 4. Automatic programming Making the most of these features, any individual however unskilled can program the unit easly, thereby reducing the time required for programming by a wide ma Last but not least, preparations are made light work through easy operation, improvement, the contonts in this mani in details, I may aliffer from the SARRARNRANANS (lelelelelalatelaldalelalaletalela) 12. General Safety Instructions ‘The machine is equipped with safety devices to protect the operator and machine from unex pected troubles. However, the operator is urged to get familiar with all operation safety Instructions without depending on the safety devices too much, (1) Checkups Before Switching ON Power 1), Check to see if nothing unnecessary is left on the machine, numerical control cabinet and other. 2) Check to make sure the enclosure doors of the control panel and electric control board ar closed, 3) Inspect all operation control levers and switches for normal function. (2) Power Source 1) Tum ON the power disconnect switch first and then the POWER ON switch on the operators control panel in that order. (Reverse the above procedure when cutting off the power.) 2) All contol indicator lamps must be ON when the POWER ON switch on the control panels pressed. 3) Be sure to switch OFF the power disconnect switch when a power failure occurs. 4) Be sure to cut OFF the power before leaving the shop as the operation of the day is (3) Lubrication 1) Cheek the oll tanks for proper oil level supply. Follow the instructions on the lubrica- ‘tion name plate for the type of oll and amount of supply. (4) Checkup of Operation Contot's Function 1) Ghock all operation controls for proper function according to the operation manual 2) Check the pressure gages for correct setup, 18) Emergency Stop ‘To stop the machine during the operation of cutting, use the folowing switches 1) EMERGENCY STOP pushbutton switeh 2) FEED HOLD pushbutton 3) RESET pushbutton ROR RRA RR OF RARARR AR AAR AAR ARANDA (8) Operation Safoty Instructions » » 2 4 3) 8 nD 8) » 10) mn) 12) 13) 14) 15) 16) 17) 18) 19) ‘The operator should dress safely, wear nothing that could get caught on the moving Units or machine, wear a safety cop, shoes having steel toe caps and safety glasses. Avoid using lubricants other than those specified in terms of quality and grade. Be sure to chuck the workpiece positively, ‘Make it a habit to remove the chuck wrench or handle whenever # workpiece is clamped or unclamped. Avoid exerting excessive force to the chuck wrench when tightening the chuck, Avoid running the machine without the safety cover, chip guard or chuck cover Be sure to close the front machine door before starting the machine. Be sure to perform atrial cut afte the tools ate setup. Avoid an immediate automatic operation whei running the machine with a new NC Progm. ao iandie sharp cutter and chips with care and a cloth, Do not remove chips while the machine is running and avoid touching any moving part with a bare hand, ‘Avoid depressing pushbutton switches with a glove on. Be sure to keep tools in order at the crib, Leave the passage around the machine fre from any obstructions Keep the machine and other equipment always clean, igh Voltage Alarm Do not touch switches with wet hand, ‘Do not use any fuses other than those specified, [Be sure to cut off the main switch before replacing the fuses Electrical troubles should be handled by an authorized electrical engineer. ia COA OPO ROOF RAR ARR ARR AAR RAARNANNS (7) Satety Devices ‘The machine is provided with the following safety devices for protecting not only the ‘operator from any possible hazards but also the machine from damage. ane and 1 | ow owas kc Fd mane 2 | casino Dente et 2. | rep cmp enantio Peco net ma fermen a ewes thaecmol eet &| Kent aan non onan 6 | cut ame ot xe 1 | sete mat wen ra _| | soencency sor en cAvmions Fone stanive THE NACHE | Deo ring mahie one wk! ome i ote tots ont ft, et ple mea eer eas Fas caesar sano Cason es Swe NOTE) As the menual pulblever of lubricating pump is designed to be rotractad by ‘the counter presure of spring, repeat only pulling the lever saveral times, without pushing it backward, CAUTIONS ON USING COOLANT (1) Clean the fiterin the oil pan or the sub tank at least once a week.
