Birth date: 1st July
Task 1. Q.1
We are given μ=8,21 σ=1.90
We have to find P(x<5)= 0.045
The required Z score formula is given below:
Z=(X-μ ¿/σ
Z= -1.68947
P(Z<-1.68947)=P(X<5)=0.045
This probability is less than 5% or 0.05 so it is unusual
Task 2. Q.1
a) A1= 1, A2= 2 YES
b) A1= 1, A2= 2 YES
c) C1= 1, C2=1 YES
d) D1=3, D2=2, D3= 1 NO
e) E1= 50%, E2=25%, E3=25% NO
f) F1=50%, F2=66% YES
g) G1=
Task 3. Q.1

the sum of the probability that either will happen minus the probability that both will happen.

Task 4. Q.1
The probability of client not returning money is 2.1125
Task 5. Q.1
n!
Formula : P(x)= × ( p ¿ ¿x ×(1− p)n−x
x ! ( n−x ) !

1. P (x=0) = 0.5997
2. P (x=9) = 1.5729×10−3
3. P (x=8) = 0.04395
4. P (x=5) =0.4018

Task 6. Q. 1

a) Formula: ∑ x ×P(x)
Distribution A : 0 , 0.2 , 0.3 , 0.3 , 0.2

Distribution B : 0 , 0.1 , 0.3 , 0.6 , 2

b) Formula: s=
∑¿¿
√∑ ¿¿ ¿ ¿ ¿ , x́=
n

Distribution A : x́=0.2 s= 0.015

Distribution B: x́=0.6 s= 0.665

c) Distribution B probability is greater than Distribution A

Task 7. Q. 1

a) a probability density function can take on values greater than one.

b) A pf gives a probability, so it cannot be greater than one. A pdf f(x), however, may give a
value greater than one for some values of x, since it is not the value of f(x) but the area under
the curve that represents probability.

 c) distribution function is an increasing function on R thus its derivative is always positive.

Probability can never be negative

d) By definition the probability density function is the derivative of the distribution function.

But distribution function is an increasing function on R thus its derivative is always positive.
Assume that probability density of X is -ve in the interval (a, b). ... Thus, density can never
be negative.
