Personality Insight Reflection

Taking any type of personality test can prompt a ton of thought and reflection on yourself,

how we live and how we associate with others. I took DISC personality test which made it seem

like I was different from what I accepted about myself. The DISC assessment is designed to test

an individual in four areas of behavior which includes Dominance (dominant), Inspiring,

supportive and cautions. I experienced somewhat more difficult sorting out the DISC assessment

from the start and had to read deeper into this assessment then I did discover the clarification of

the analysis report. After completing the DISC personality questionnaire, my profile indicates

blend of dominant, inspiring, and supportive traits. Dominant traits are likely a bit more potent

than inspiring and supportive traits.

I was not surprised by the result as dominance reflecting on how I prefer to use my talent

based on my natural adaptive behavior style and have problem solving attitude. My inspiring

traits show my ability to influence others, focus on interacting with people and build constructive

relationships. Supportive behavior, this element displays my focus on preserving relationship and

on creating or maintaining peace and harmony.

My preferred style at college, work and around new people is typically people-oriented

and task-oriented. I perceive this behavior most when faced a conflict between gatherings of

individuals. I regularly have a more reflective approach in group discussion, as I like to think

critically before sharing my thoughts. However, my inclination for task focus or people focuses

often change with mindset.

My strength come from my ability to act without hesitation and adjust to change rapidly.

I have forward thinking, and I do not get bogged down with details and routines. As I am so

willing to engage with change, often find new ways of moving forward and when given the
flexibility and authority to make decision. My weakness can be that I often too willing to help

others and can be taken advantage of. I tend to avoid giving feedback because of the effect on

others. Being unwilling to upset someone.

To become a better leader in future, I think I should overcome my weaknesses. I should

give feedback to other as feedback is critical because it helps to achieve goals and build

trustworthy relationship between leader an employee. Additionally, to be a leader I must

understand my leadership skills and should focus on right things and give real time and real deal

feedback to my team members. Feedback should be relevant to the completion of task and should

be presented with data and logic.

My DISC personality test show that I have people-oriented traits that will help me

more emphasis on the development and involvement of my team and task oriented will help me

to have a strong focus on achieving good results or on getting a job done. DISC personality test

invites creativity, innovation and fresh thinking in my mind set. DISC assessment can increase

my self-awareness, helping me recognize where my strengths are. This means that I understand

how I work and communicate best and learn more about my own motivators. It is likewise an

extraordinary method to discover what my shortcomings may be so I can work on improving in

those spaces or simply know about them in my everyday work.

Nursing leader is about influencing others to improve the quality of care along with

motivating and empowering others every step of the way. In future as a nursing leader, this

personality results important for me. I will value the opinion of others, respect their beliefs, and

listen to their concern with open mind. Because nursing leadership has been connected to

improve patient results, decreased clinical mistakes, improve staff maintenance, and benefiting

the health care workplace, I will care about making an impact by doing what is needed for the
health care environment as a whole. I will value dedication and listen to the needs of others along

the path toward goal completion and will strive to be a nurse leader that inspire others to do

same.
