Recycling refers to the process of converting waste material into new material for further use in

general with the aim to reduce waste .

Recycling has been a major practice implemented by environmental conservation enthusiasts to
avoid gratuitous waste generation and prevent pollution in the environment , although the
suggestion for and efforts of recycling by only minority of population are questioned for its scale
of impact and effectiveness as major producers of pollution to environments are factories,
industries and other big corporations who generate many synthetic non-biodegradable
substances as waste in vast quantities and therefore in comparison to such a thing , individual
efforts of recycling seems insignificant and a better approach for conservation of environment is
suggested to be implemented through policies and regulation imposed on major producer of
pollution.
This , indeed, seems to offer a better solution of decreasing environmental pollution in terms of
effectiveness and scale , however efforts of recycling are not that futile as it may be presented,
moreover if re-cycling can be encouraged and incentivized for individuals , communities and
even industries, it can bring cumulative effects whose potential we may not be considering well
enough , hence recycling needs to be practiced more to see how much we can potentially
transform our production , innovation and other industrial operations to be more environment
friendly .
Advantages of recycling are as follows :
1) It can prevent waste of material having more potential of usage than all that is already
deployed and reduce consumption of fresh raw material .
2) It helps to reduce energy consumption , air pollution and water pollution.
3) Recycling of non biodegradable substances can prevent their increment in the
environment through new production.
