Introduction: ~MUSC Health Personnel COVID-19 (SARS-CoV2) Vaccination, Rationale:
Healthcare personnel continue to be on the front line of the nation’s fight against the COVID-19
pandemic. Healthcare personnel’s occupation type and job setting can contribute to thelr risk of
‘acquiring COVID-19 and experiencing severe outcomes, When healthcare personnel get sick
with COVID-19, not only do they get sick, but they are also not able to care for patients, Given the
‘evidence of ongoing COVID-19 infections and. its variants amongst healthcare personnel, and
given the critical role healthcare personnel play in caring for others, their continued protection
femains a prioriy. immunization is critical to ensuring the health and safety of our essential
workforce. “The (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has made
recommendations for vaccinations of healthcare personnel,
In coord with such recommendations, MUSC Health offers and provides COVID-19 vaccinations.
MUSC Health is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for the entire care team
inclucing patients and theirfamilies. As such, all personnel will be expected to receive COVID-19
vaccination(s).
Scope:
Personnel - refers to all MUSC Health employees, trainees, studentsivsitng students,
volunteers, on-campus contractors, members of the medical staff, temporary workers, medical
residents, and volunteers. This applies whether paid or unpaid,
Procedure:
A. Personnel COVID-19 Vaccination Program:
1, MUSC Health Personnel COVID-19 Vaccination Program Participation:
a. All personnel are expected to receive the COVID-19 vaccines). However, no
Personnel shall be expected to receive a COVID-19 vaccine if:
1) the vaccine is medically contraindicated for that individual or
2) if the individual has religious beliefs that do not permit vaccines.

Occupational Health Record.
. Personnel are expected to receive the COVID-19 vaccine(s) no later than the
date(s) to be established by administration
4d. New personnel credentialed, hired, or on rotations will be expected to receive a
vaccine before reporting for duty, or no more than 24 hours after reporting for duty
e. Personnel may receive the COVID-19 vaccine at a MUSC facility or an outside
facility. If vaccinated at a non-MUSC facility personnel will be expected to provide
documentation of vaccination to Employee Health Services
f. Personnel who do not receive the required COVID-19 vaccine(s) or provide
documentation of immunization by the designated date(s) will be designated as un-
vaccinated and must comply with the following:
1) wear a face mask at all times while on the MUSC Campuses, even when
campus mask wearing rules are rescinded.
2) receive routine COVID-19 testing using MUSC approved testing method
‘and submit documentation of completion to Employee Health Services.
2. Personnel Notification and Awareness of Compulsory COVID-19 Vaccination
Program:
a. MUSC Health will ensure that all personnel are notified of the COVID-19
vaccination expectation and are sufficiently informed as to the expectation requiring
vaccination or submission of an appropriate exemption request.
3. Documentation and Performance Monitoring
a. MUSC Employee Health Services (EHS) will maintain documentation of the
COVID-19 vaccination status of personnel in the Occupational Health Record.
